Fantasy FB Playoffs – 2 down, 1 to go!

Drew Brees came through for us again!  On Monday Night Football, Brees passed for more than 300 yards with four touchdown passes to lead the New Orleans Saints to a 34-7 rout of the Indianapolis Colts.

In the process, Brees also rallied our Fantasy Football team from a 41-point deficit to a victory in the semifinals of the Yahoo! Fantasy Football playoffs.

Our team called “Swamp Gas” took a 118-111 victory and improved to 9-6 on the season.  We will now face the second seeded team this weekend in the league championship game.

Brees has single-handedly advanced our team in the playoffs with two straight weeks of stellar performances.  It is no surprise that the future Hall-of-Famer broke Peyton Manning’s career touchdown mark on Monday Night with ease.

In Brees We Trust!

This week, the final game of the season is setting-up as another “Underdog” week for Swamp Gas, too.  The early line shows our fantasy football team a nine point underdog.

There are no more player moves allowed for the final week, so we’ll need to best utilize our current roster and hope for the best.

Coming out of this past weekend, it looks like our former starting wide receiver Adam Thielen (Vikings) is good-to-go (hamstring injury) and ready for a big Monday Night match-up with conference rival Green Bay.  The game will be played indoors in Minneapolis, so we’ll put Thielen back into the line-up this week and pull for a high scoring shootout.

Likewise, the concussion to our starting tight end Jared Cook (Saints) forced us to keep him on the bench last week.  Cook was cleared to play Monday before the game, so we’ll have him back in the line-up this week (at Tennessee).

This is the final week of fantasy football in 2019, so I hope that you have enjoyed learning how I approach each week’s game as you play along with my team this season.

Let’s hope for a victory this weekend to finish the season with the league championship!
